Japanese auto giant Toyota has announced that it will be building a new vehicle manufacturing plant in the Bidkin Industrial Area, Maharashtra, India. The plant is expected to begin operations in 2029.
The new facility will have an annual production capacity of 1,00,000 units, and will employ around 2,800 people. Stamping, welding, painting, and vehicle assembly will be ome of the main processes that will be carried out at the new plant.
Toyota will be manufacturing a new SUV at the plant. The new model expected to be exported to other markets across the globe.
Toyota currently has two manufacturing units in India with a total installed capacity of 3,42,000 units per annum.
