Volkswagen recently launched a 2019 Cricket World Cup-inspired special edition of its three popular cars namely Polo, Ameo and Vento.

The three cars, based on their respective Comfortline trims are called Cup editions and sport cosmetic changes in terms of ‘CUP’ badging on the front grille, sides and backrests of the car seats in contrast colours and chrome. Also new are the 15-inch razor alloys on the Polo Cup edition. The Ameo and Vento Cup editions retain their respective 15-inch Tosa and Linas alloys.

The Polo and Ameo Cup editions are powered by a 1.0-litre 3-cylinder petrol engine that makes 76 hp and 95 Nm torque. The Vento Cup edition runs on a more powerful 1.6-litre 4-cylinder petrol motor producing 105 hp and 153 Nm of torque. All engines are mated to a 5-speed manual transmission, and diesel variations of the powertrain are soon to follow.

The ex-showroom prices for the cars are as follows:

  • Volkswagen Polo Cup edition: INR 6.49 lakh
  • Volkswagen Ameo Cup edition: INR 6.19 lakh
  • Volkswagen Vento Cup edition: INR 9.24 lakh

The Polo, Ameo and Vento compete in the hatchback, compact sedan and midsize sedan segments respectively.
