We had driven the Volvo XC40 first when it was launched in India just over a couple of years ago and came away very impressed. Now Volvo has launched the XC40 T4 petrol in the Indian market and that replaces the diesel motor in the model lineup. So now, the XC40 will be available only with a 2.0 litre turbo petrol engine in the fully loaded R-Design guise. We went to sunny Goa to drive it and find out if the Volvo XC40 T4 petrol is a worthy replacement for the diesel.
Volvo XC40 T4 Exterior
On the exterior, there is nothing to differentiate the petrol variant from the diesel apart from the T4 badging on the tail gate. The XC40 was already a handsome looking car and the R-Design makes it looks sportier thanks to the very limited chrome. Up front, you get a glossy black front grille flanked by thr super cool looking ‘Thor Hammer’ headlamps. The fog lamp housings are also finished in black. At the side, the 18 inch alloy wheels retain the earlier design. There are black ORVMs and a blacked out roof that gives a floating effect at the D pillar. The trademark Boomerang design Volvo tail lamps complete the rear.
