Volvo is on the offensive as far as India is concerned. According to Autocar India magazine, the company has confirmed that it will launch the S60 Cross Country in India early next year. The car had made its global debut at this year’s Detroit Motor Show.
The S60 Cross Country comes with raised ride height and an all wheel drive system. This makes for a great combination of a luxury sedan which you can take to the occasional off-road excursion. The S60 Cross Country is offered with with front wheel drive or all wheel drive internationally.
In India, the S60 Cross Country will be powered by a 2.4 litre five cylinder D4 diesel engine that develops 178 bhp. Ground clearance is 65 mm more than the standard S60 sedan. Equipment levels will be on par with the top end variant of the S60 sedan. Pricing is expected to be 4 to 5 lakhs more than the standard car.
Volvo also sells the Cross County version of the V40 hatchback in India.
