Swedish car maker Volvo is all set to introduced their performance brand Polestar in India. The first car that Volvo will being in will be the S60 Polestar sedan.
“We are looking to launch the S60 Polestar in the beginning of next year…It will be a good performance alternative and also a petrol alternative for the market,” Tom Von Bonsdorff, managing director of Volvo Auto India said to Autocar India magazine.
India is expected to get the updated S60 Polestar sedan that features a 2.0 litre four cylinder. petrol engine that develops 367 horsepower and 470 Nm of torque. The engine will be mated to an eight speed automatic gearbox. Additionally it gets a stiffer suspension set up, larger air intake, bigger turbo and a higher capacity fuel pump. Volvo claims a 0 to 100 timing of 4.7 seconds and the car has a limited top speed of 250 kph. The updated car is 15 kg lighter and reducing load on the front axle hs helped in improving weight distribution. The car will feature a Polestar specific four wheel drive system.
Volvo currently has 15 dealerships in the country and will be expanding to Lucknow, Pune and Jaipur soon.
