When you talk about safety in cars of today, there is one brand in particular that pops right up in your mind. Yes, I am talking about the Swedish car manufacturer, Volvo. While most cars in the market today follow the gentlemen’s agreement of not exceeding 250 kmph, Volvo has decided to limit drivers even further. That said, reaching 180 kmph too would be virtually impossible in any part of the world with speed limits imposed at much much lower speeds. While this may not be the end of speeding, it definitely seems to be a step in the right direction to make our roads a much safer place for everybody. Apart from lowering the speed, the company is also working on driver monitoring devices to prevent a distracted or intoxicated person from taking the wheel.

Talking about the brand, Volvo sells a multitude of SUVs and sedans in the Indian market. Known for its state of the art features and robust build quality, the manufacturer competes against other premium brands including Mercedes Benz, Audi, Jaguar Land Rover and BMW. The company currently offers the XC40, XC60 and XC90 range of SUVs, the S90 sedan and V90 station wagon in the Indian market today. The prices of the cars range from INR 39.90 Lakh to INR 1.31 Cr.
