The Tiguan nameplate was first introduced by Volkswagen in India in 2017. Here was a nice premium 5 seater SUV that had fantastic build quality, comfortable and with a nice diesel engine, it was fun to drive too. Now, VW has replaced the Tiguan with this, the Tiguan Allspace. What it is essentially, is a larger Tiguan that now comes with a third row of seats. And that’s not all. The diesel engine has also bowed out, making way for a turbo petrol motor. So does all this make the Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace a better package?
Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace Exterior
The Tiguan Allspace doesn’t look too different from its 5 seater sibling on the outside as such. The squarish front is flanked by the LED headlamps and the chrome front grille. It misses out on the cladding on the lower part however. It is 215 mm longer overall and the wheelbase has increased by 110 mm. The rear is also similar, the only difference being the chrome surrounds for the faux exhausts. While it does feel bit bulky to look at, the design is typical German and is very clean and pleasing to the eye.
