Volkswagen has launched updated version of the Polo hatchback and the Vento sedan with prices starting at Rs. 5.82 lakh and Rs. 8.76 lakh respectively. Both models come with cosmetic tweaks and add-ons.
The 2029 Editions of the Polo and Vento come with a GTI inspired honey comb grille, new front bumper, side skirts, smoked tail lamps, and a diffuser in the rear bumper. A new GT Line trim level includes features like a black roof, GT Line badge on the front fender, side decals, black ORVM caps and rear spoiler. Both cars are also offered with a new ‘Sunset Red’ paint shade.
The Polo and Vento now come with the Volkswagen Connect feature on the GT and Highline Plus variants. It is a dongle based feature that can be transferred across multiple VW cars. The suite allows vehicle tracking, driving behaviour, location sharing and fuel cost monitoring.
Safety features across all Polo and Vento models include dual airbags, ABS, speed alarm, rear parking sensors and seat belt warning.
There are no changes as far as the engines are concerned. The Polo comes with a 1.0 litre naturally aspirated petrol engine good for 76 hp and a 1.5 litre diesel motor putting out 90 hp. The GT comes with the choice of a 1.2 litre turbocharged petrol motor developing 105 hp and 1.5 litre diesel putting out 110 horses. The Vento continues with the 105 hp 1.6 petrol, 105 hp 1.2 turbo petrol and the 110 hp 1.5 litre diesel engine.
Volkswagen is now offering a 5 year standard warranty for diesel variants of the Polo, Vento and Ameo. Apart from this, from January 1st 2019, all Volkswagen cars come with a standard 4yr/1,00,000 km warranty and four year roadside assistance.
