Toyota has launched an updated version of the Yaris sedan with prices starting at Rs. 8.65 lakh for the base J (Optional) manual and going up to Rs 14.07 lakh for the range topping VX CVT variant. The car maker has introduced three new trim levels with this update: J (Optional), G (Optional) and V (Optional).
The J (optional) and G (Optional) variants are positioned below the respective J and G trim levels. The difference in the variants are the airbags offered. While the J and G get 7 airbags as standard, the J (Optional) and G (Optional) get three airbags.
The V (Optional) sits between the V and VX variants. This new variant gets dual tone paint options, diamond-cut alloy wheels, leatherette seats, and a black finish for the grille and ORVMs. These are in addition to the features offered on the V.
Other features include alloy wheels on all variants, 7-inch touch screen is now available on the V variant, driver and co-driver seat-belt reminder, rear parking sensors and a speed alert system as per the current safety norms.
Mechanically the Toyota Yaris remains unchanged. It is powered by a 1.5 litre petrol engine putting out 107 horsepower. It comes mated to either a 6 speed manual or CVT gearbox. The CVT is offered across all trim levels of the Yaris
