For a nation loving its SUVs, the Fortuner has been a favourite option for many buyers in the Indian market for a great number of years now. In its current generation, the Fortuner continues to offer Toyota’s well-known bulletproof reliability in a mean-looking, practical package. The Japanese manufacturer has now unveiled a new limited edition model of the car, which offers a few sporty-looking elements on the outside and some new, functional features in the interior. Dubbed the Fortuner TRD, this new limited edition model comes with a starting price of INR 34.98 Lakh(ex-showroom). This makes this new model carry a premium of about 2 Lakh over the regular model. Read ahead to find out what you get for the additional money.
From the outside, one may confuse this with the TRD Celebratory Edition model launched last year. This means the car gets a stunning pearl white paint job, accompanied by a blacked-out roof, blacked-out alloy wheels, a redesigned bumper. Additionally, a couple of TRD badges here and there make the TRD stand out amongst regular models. Moving to the inside, Toyota offers a black interior scheme with maroon highlights. Additionally, the car gets equipped with features like head-up display, auto-folding ORVMs, 360-degree camera, dashcam, air purifier, puddle lamps, tyre pressure monitor and a door-mounted wireless smartphone charger at the rear. These features, which Toyota calls the Special Technology Package differentiates this TRD edition Fortuner from the others.
Customers of this car have around three months to be able to walk into showrooms to buy this limited edition SUV. While the car will only be offered with the 177 hp 2.8 oil-burner and automatic transmission, buyers can choose between four-wheel drive and two-wheel drive drivetrain options. The 4×2 model is priced at INR 34.98 Lakh, the 4×4 model carries a price tag of INR 36.88 Lakh.
