The Toyota Camry has been around in India for a long time now. Globally, the car is best seller especially in the United States, China and taxi drivers in Dubai swear by it. And why not? Peace of mind and reliability go hand in hand for the Camry by default. However, in India it has been a niche seller. Toyota brought the seventh gen Camry to India in 2012 and they were the first car maker to start local assembly of a hybrid car in India. This reduced the price of the car by a good margin and sales have been decent since then. What we have here is the facelifted model which is better in every way than its predecessor. The updated Camry Hybrid gets a very pleasing face and appears sleeker than the older model. The front grille is slimmer, and just look at that large central air dam. It definitely gives the car a more aggressive stance and gets chrome surrounds. There are all new design projector headlamps which come with LED daytime running lamps. The Toyota logo on the grille gets a blue surround, indicating the car’s green credentials. The bonnet also gets a slight bulge. There is nothing striking about the side apart from the fact that this is a very long car. The front fenders get a HYBRID badge on either side, and we like the multi spoke alloy wheel design.
