Other cars in the showroom include everything from a Ferrari 550 Barchetta, 456 GT , Aston Martin V8 Volante, Alfa Romeo Montreal, Detomaso Pantera, Maserati Bora, Maserati Merak SS, Porsche 356B Roadster etc. The pictures will speak for themselves. We also got to check out the vault which has some more jewels stored inside. There I got to see one of my favourite cars of all time, the beautiful Jaguar XJ220. Also seen were a Porsche 928, a one of a kind Ferrari 512 M finished in Azzurro Hyperion, the only one in the world, a Ferrari Dino, a Lamborghini Murcielago SV, a classic Ford Thunderbird and the list goes on. A special mention would be the Ferrari 330 P4. This is actually a replica but the detail is mind boggling. Infact there are some Ferrari components that have been used in its construction. A typical day for Miguel starts by reaching the showroom at 7.30 am. He then does a test drive or two early morning on empty Dubai roads. There are also test drive schedules for cars to check if everything is in order, and sometimes cars are driven just to give them a good workout. The rest of the day goes dealing with emails and sales enquiries, parts sourcing and the works. Miguel specializes in German cars at Tomini, mostly Mercedes-Benz while Assyl, Head of Tomini Classics is passionate about the Italian marques . What’s more Miguel even owns a Volvo P1800 that he is currently restoring to top condition.
Miguel also handles the various events that Tomini does. They generally do atleast one event a month and other smaller events like meet ups over coffee and breakfast along with car chat with enthusiasts at some of the local cafes. Infact Tomini Classics was present with a car display at the Dubai Autodrome during the 24H Dubai races which I attended two days prior to my visit.I didn’t realize how a couple of hours flew by just drooling at the cars and some fantastic car chat with Miguel. This place is nothing short of a man cave for us car lovers. The showroom is well laid out and you even have seating area right in the middle complete with a coffee table made out of an engine block. The entire collection is also up on their official website which you can visit by clicking here. So the next time you are in Dubai, a visit to Tomini Classics is a must on the ‘To Do’ list. Rest assured there will be jaw dropping moments guaranteed.
A big shout out to Miguel for having us over and showing us around the Tomini Classics collection.
