Tata Motors has officially announced that their upcoming SUV will be called the Tata Harrier. The original H5X concept was first revealed at the 2018 Auto Expo in February earlier this year.
The name ‘Harrier’ stands for a dominant beast imbued with endless stamina and strength gifted with unwavering instinct and which effortlessly conquers every challenge thrown its way.
The Tata Harrier will be the first vehicle from the Tata Motors stable to feature the ‘Impact Design 2.0’ philosophy. The 5 seater monocoque SUV is engineered on the ‘Optimal Modular Efficient Global Advanced’ Architecture that has been jointly developed with Jaguar Land Rover. The architecture is derived from the Land Rover D8 architecture and is adapted to suit Indian conditions.
Power could come from a Multi-jet diesel engine in different states of tune. It is expected to come with both manual and automatic transmission.
Enthusiasts and consumers will be able to trace the entire journey of the Tata Harrier from concept to production and launch at the official website https://harrier.tatamotors.com
AS far as the concept goes, front features a uniquely styled grille and high mounted slim LED headlamps. The fog lamp inserts feature what the Tata Motors calls ‘tri arrow pattern. There are large 22 inch alloys and the concept features a side step that lowers down when the doors are opened. It gets a sloping roofline and smoked wrap around tail lamps. There are skid plates at both the front and the rear.
