Tata Motors has announced that the upcoming flagship SUV will be called the Gravitas. Codenamed as the H7X in concept form, the Gravitas will be a 7-seater version of the Harrier.
The Gravitas will be the second vehicle built on the OMEGA (Optimal Modular Efficient Global Advanced) Architecture, which is derived from Land Rover’s legendary D8 platform. Expect the the Gravitas to come with an extensive feature list.
As far as engines go, the Gravitas is expected to feature the same 2.0 litre 4 cylinder diesel engine in a BS VI avtaar and a higher state of tune, which we expect to be around 170 horsepower. The other good news is that the SUV will come with the option of an automatic transmission, something that was sorely missed on the Harrier.
Mr. Mayank Pareek – President, Passenger Vehicle Business Unit, Tata Motors said, “We are elated to reveal the name of our latest SUV offering– the Tata GRAVITAS. With this, we are excited to offer to our customers, yet another state-of-the-art product. The GRAVITAS will up the ante in terms of luxury and performance and we are excited to launch this product to customers in February 2020. We are confident that the GRAVITAS will inspire and lead as a product among customers and industry alike.”
The Gravitas will launch in the Indian market in February 2020.
