In a sea of SUVs spanning the entire Indian automotive landscape, something that stands out and is different is always welcome. And that’s what the Tata Curvv is. With its SUV coupe design, the Curvv aims to carve out a whole new segment. And that’s not all. With the Curvv, Tata is also introducing a DCT automatic gearbox with its diesel engine and a new TGDI petrol engine as well. I still have to drive the Curvv EV that was introduced a little earlier but I got to sample the TGDI petrol and the diesel DCT models in Goa recently.

Tata Curvv Exterior

The SUV coupe design has always been something of an acquired taste. There are those who like it and those who don’t. But you cant help but admit that it is striking and quite a head turner. The face comprises of a slim grille along with LED DRLs that are connected by a light bar. The actual headlamps are at the outer edges of front bumper that also gets a large air dam in the centre. There is a faux skid plate too. Moving to the side view, the Curvv gets a snazzy set of 18 inch alloys with 215 profile rubber on the range topping variants. There are piano black finish wheel arches and flush door handles as well. The doors also get cladding at the bottom. Also notice the Curvv lettering on the doors. The sloping roofline ends at spoiler like edges. The LED tail lamps look smart and are also connected by a light bar. The black contrast roof looks smart but the Curvv does not get a rear wiper. As far as dimensions go, the Curvv measures the Curvv measures 4,308mm in length, 1,810mm in width and 1,630mm in height. Wheelbase stands at 2,560mm. Ground clearance is a more than adequate 208 mm. The Curvv is available in six colours; Flame Red, Pristine White, Opera Blue, Pure Grey, Gold Essence and Daytona Grey. Flame Red and Gold Essence is what you see in these pictures.

The Curvv is based on Tata’s new Atlas modular platform. Tata Motors says the Atlas platform is ready for multiple body styles and also 4×4 capabilities. However I don’t know when we will see a Tata 4×4 next.
