The Tata Altroz iTurbo has been officially revealed prior to its price announcement on January 22nd 2021. Bookings for the hatchback will open tomorrow at dealerships for a booking amount of Rs. 11,000.
The Altroz iTurbo comes with a 1.2 litre 3 cylinder turbo charged petrol engine that develops 110 horsepower and 140 Nm of torque. The engine comes mated to a 5 speed manual gearbox that sends power to the front wheels. Tata is expected to add a 7 speed DCT in the near future. The Altroz iTurbo goes from 0 to 100 kph in a claimed 11.9 seconds and comes with City and Sport Drive modes.
The Altroz iTurbo will come with iRA (Intelligent Real time Assist) connected car features in the top end XZ+ variant. It comes with 27 Features that include Remote on/off, remote headlights on/off, Find my car, geo fencing, Driving score, valet mode, time fencing alert etc. These features can be accessed by the iRA smartphone app.
The Altroz iTurbo gets the Natural Voice Tech voice command system that understands over 70 English, Hindi and Hinglish commands. Other new features include XPress Cool, leatherette upholstery, Personalized wallpaper for the infotainment screen, and two additional tweeters.
The Altroz iTurbo will be available in XT, XZ and XZ+ variants. A new Harbour Blue paint shade is now offered on all Altroz cars XM trim onwards. The iTurbo also gets the option of a contrast black roof on the XZ and XZ+.
Rivals to the Tata Altroz iTurbo include the Hyudai i20 turbo GDI and the Volkswagen Polo 1.0 TSI.
