Skoda Auto recently launched a limited ‘Rider’ edition run of its popular sedan, the Rapid.
The Rapid Rider is powered by a 1.6L MPI engine that comes mated to a manual transmission. The highlight of this powerplant is the 16 valve dual overhead cam set up, and the net power output of 104 hp and 153 Nm of torque.
The limited-edition features some refreshed styling updates with extensive use of black elements in and around it. The black multi-slat front grille is complemented by gloss black B-pillars, flourishing black decals along above the side skirt, and a boot lip to match. The interior is Skoda’s signature dual-tone ebony sand interior with ivory slate upholstery. The sill plates reading the name ‘Rapid’ are a particularly nice touch too.
In terms of safety, the Rapid Rider gets Parktronic rear parking sensors, an anti-glare interior rearview mirror, a rear windscreen defogger with timer, height-adjustable three-point seatbelts at the front, a rough road package, and an immobilizer with a floating code system, apart from the standard dual airbags and ABS that are standard issue.
To further elevate the ownership experience, the Rider edition comes with Skoda’s Shield Plus that covers the car for 6 years for motor insurance, roadside assistance and extended warranty.
The Skoda Rapid Rider edition retails for an ex-showroom price of Rs. 6.99 lakh.
