Porsche Macan with four cylinder engine revealed
German sports car maker Porsche has revealed an entry level model of the Macan SUV. This variant will be powered by a four cylinder petrol engine and will make its global debut at the upcoming New York Motor Show.
The entry level Porsche Macan features a 2.0 litre four cylinder turbo charged petrol engine that develops 252 horsepower from 5000 to 6800 rpm and produces 370 Nm of torque between 1600 and 4.500 rpm. It goes from 0 to 100 kph in 6.7 seconds and the addition of the Sport Chrono Package, this time is reduced to 6.5 seconds. A seven-speed PDK dual-clutch gearbox is standard and the Macan is equipped with all wheel drive. It weighs 1,770 kg which makes it the lightest SUV made by Porsche.
Standard features on the entry level model of the Porsche Macan include window trim strips in black, black brake callipers, 18 inch alloy wheels and dual exhausts. Some features from the Macan S model are also standard on this variant. These include comfort seats with electric eight-way adjustment on the driver’s side, Alcantara middle seat panels, the latest generation of Porsche Communication Management (PCM), a lane-departure warning system and a powered tailgate.The Porsche Macan entry level model is available for order and the international market launch will take place in June 2016. The new model should make its way to Indian shores as well.
