The all new Volvo XC60 will be launched in India on December 12, 2017. It will be available in a single fully loaded Inscription variant.
The new XC60 is built on Volvo’s SPA architecture platform. It is powered by a 2.0 four cylinder D5 diesel engine that develops 235 horsepower. The engine will come mated to an eight speed automatic gearbox and will feature all wheel drive as standard.
Being a Volvo, the XC60 will come loaded with goodies. These include a large touch screen infotainment system, the fabulous Bowers &Wilkins sound system, 19 inch alloy wheels, Thor Hammer headlamps, Nappa leather upholstery and heads up display. The XC60 will also be the second Volvo in India after the XC90 to get the radar based safety systems.
Since Volvo has begun local assembly of cars in India, the XC60 will surely produced locally alongside the XC90. There is no confirmation if local assembly will start from day 1. Considering how competitively Volvo prices their cars, expect an ex showroom price between Rs 55 to 60 lakh.
Stay tuned for a detailed review as we will be getting our hands on this Swede SUV soon.
