New Maserati Levante SUV officially unveiled
Maserati has officially unveiled the Levante, the first SUV from the Italian marque. It will make its global debut at the upcoming Geneva Motor Show.
The Levante gets a large front grille with vertical slats with the Trident sitting right in the centre. There are slim headlights that taper into the front fenders. Fog lights are integrated into the sporty front bumper. Its gets the trademark Maserati triple air vents on the front fenders and features a raked front shield along with a sporty roofline. It gets frameless doors and a thick C pillar that features the “Saetta” logo. The rear features tail light inspired by the GranTurismo and quad exhausts integrated into the rear bumper. The new Levante will be powered by Euro 6 compliant petrol and diesel engines. All variant will come with a lot of standard equipment. It gets sophisticated electronic suspension with controlled damping and air springs, which can be set on several levels, “Q4” intelligent all-wheel drive. The engine is mated to an eight speed automatic gearbox that has specially been calibrated for the new SUV.
The Maserati Levante is built at the Mirafiori plant in Turin, and the first cars have already come off the assembly line. Global launch is expected to happen later this year. The Levante is expected to hit Indian shores in 2017.
