BMW India has registered a new half yearly sales record by delivering 5171 units between the period of January to June 2018. This is a growth of 13 % when compared to last year.
For the breakup the BMW Group sold 4890 MW cars which is a growth of 12 %, 281 units of Mini that is a growth of 30 % compared to 2017. The first half of the year has also seen BMW Motorrad sell 208 units.
BMW launched the third gen X3 SUV and the 6 GT earlier this year. The car maker also brought in the all new Countryman. BMW says the growth is mainly because the Sport Activity Vehicle (SAV) has grown by 26% as compared to 2017 and the X3 has led the segment growth by 60% as compared to last year.
BMW has also introduced Euro 6 compliant petrol engines in its India portfolio. The petrol models have registered a growth of 92% in 2018 says BMW India.
