Ford has launched the new Endeavour in India at a starting price of Rs. 24.75 lakh ex showroom Mumbai with Octroi. It will be sold in two variants: Trend and Titanium. It will rival the Chevrolet, Trailblazer, Toyota Fortuner and the Mitsubishi Parjero Sport.
The new Endeavour comes with the choice of two diesel engines. There is a 2.2 litre four cylinder unit that develops 158 bhp and comes mated to either a six speed manual or automatic gearbox. It is avialable in both 2wd and 4wd. The other engine is a 3.2 litre five cylinder motor that puts out 197 bhp. This engine is mated to only a six speed automatic gearbox and comes with permanent 4wd.
There are a host of features as standard equipment. These include Ford Sync 2 infotainment system with touch screen an voice control, 8 way power adjustable front seats, Blueooth, AUX, 10 speaker sound system, dual zone climate control, dual airbags and ABS,power tail gate, cruise control and Ford MyKey. The 4wd variant gets the Ford Terrain Management system with 4 modes: Road, Sand, Snow and Rock. it also gets hill descent control.
The higher end Titanium variant gets 7 airbags, auto headlights, LED daytime running lamps, LED tail lamps, ambient lighting, front parking sensors and tyre pressure monitoring system.
The new Endeavour is available in a a sevvem seat layout only. The third row of seats can be folded down via the touch of a button. Total cargo space with middle and third row folded is 2010 litres.
