Audi has launched the second generation Q7 in India at a price of Rs. 72 lakh for the Premium Plus variant and Rs. 77.5 lakh for the Technology variant ex showroom Mumbai and Delhi.
Power comes from a 3.0-litre V6 turbo-diesel engine developing 268 bhp and 600 Nm of torque. The engine is mated an 8 speed automatic gearbox and comes with Audi’s quattro all wheel drive system. The Q7 goes from 0 to 100 kph in 7.1 seconds and has a top speed of 234 kmph.In line with the company’s new nomenclature, the Q will come with a 45 TDI badge. The second gen Q7 is also 325 kg lighter than its predecessor.
Looks wise there is a new grille along with new front and rear bumpers. It gets new headlamps with restyled DRLs and rectangular LED tail lamps. The interior gets a new dashboard and a free standing screen for the infotainment system along with a new gear lever and MMI controller.
Features include four zone climate control, leather seats with electric adjust, panoramic sunroof, Matrix headlamps, 360 degree camera, Audi’s new infotainment system, electrically folding third row of seats which frees up luggage space to 1,955 litres, touch pad with handwriting recognition, Audi’s ‘Virtual Cockpit’ all-digital instrument cluster, Bose sound system with 19 speakers including 3D surround speakers, Audi Drive Select with Comfort, Auto, Dynamic, Individual and Off-road modes, Park Assist and air suspension. It also comes with 8 airbags.
The initial lot of Q7s will be fully imported CBUs and local assembly of the SUV is slated to begin at Aurangabad in 2016.
