After Ferrari made some waves with the Tributo this Geneva, the automaker from Maranello has set the cogs of anticipation in motion once again.
While many cars are spied upon early on in their testing phases, Ferrari’s efforts at keeping secrets are truly commendable. And so are those of a daring biker and a 488 Spider who went on to spy this.
The new 1000 hp Ferrari.
Just a week before its global reveal.
In heavy camouflage.
These photos are of an actual prototype and not a test mule. The big deal about this unnamed beast is the bold claim of 1000 hp and not without good reason too. The car is powered by a 3.9-litre V8 that also features in the F8 Tributo; in conjunction with three electric motors, two of which sit on the front axle, and the other, with the transmission. That this is the same car is further confirmed by the yellow warning triangle located on the door flaps of the camouflaging, indicative of a warning against electrocution.
Also apparent are the typical proportions of a mid-engine supercar and two gaping exhaust holes in the rear, akin to those on aircraft. The car has sleek headlights and massive discs (in all probability, carbon ceramic) and callipers for braking. It is expected to have an electric all-wheel drive, that will enable it to achieve the purported naught to 100 km/h in 2 seconds flat.
The new car will sit well above the F8 Tributo and the 812 Superfast and is poised for a global unveiling this 31st may.
