Getting yourself an allocation for the newly launched MG Hector just got more difficult. Hector, the debut vehicle that marks British manufacturer Morris Garages’ entry into the Indian market has been sold out for the year 2019.
In what has been an overwhelming response to the newcomer, dealerships have had to temporarily close bookings that began on June 4 due to a stockout resulting from the reservation for all 21,000 units. At the same time, the top brass of MG also plans to rake up the production capacity at the Halol plant to 3,000 units per month in order to accommodate the increasing demand.
In terms of statistics, the top-spec variants, namely the Smart and Sharp have seen maximum buy while a skew has been observed towards the petrol variants. The Hector has been priced very attractively and is touted to be the first connected car in the country, with as many as 50 convenience options from the iSmart connected car feature.
