Mercedes-Maybach G 650 Landaulet officially revealed
The Mercedes-Maybach G 650 Landaulet has been officially revealed a few days after pictures of the luxury off-roader were leaked online. It will make its official debut at the Geneva Motor Show in March 2017.
The Mercedes-Maybach G 650 Landaulet AMG follows in the footsteps of the AMG G63 6×6 and the G500 4×4 Squared. The mammoth features a length of 5345 millimetres, a wheelbase of 3428 millimetres and a height of 2235 millimetres. It has a whopping 450 mm of ground clearance. While the driver and front passenger get a closed roof, the rear passengers get a large folding top that opens and closes electrically. The rear single seats are electrically adjustable and can be fully reclined. The massage function on the seats have inflatable air chambers. Other features include a large business console with thermal cup holders between the individual seats, a glass partition between the front and rear occupants and centre console with two foldable tables. There is a “G cockpit” in the style of the driver’s instrument panel. The centre console houses the three distinctive, centrally placed push button switches. One switch is for the interior lighting, while the other two are used to open and close the soft top. The rear “G cockpit” also includes two glove compartments as well as grab handles typical of the G‑Class. The cross-member, which also holds the glass partition, features two 10 inch high-resolution screens of the Individual Entertainment System. There is a choice of four trims for the designo upholstery with diamond stitching. The soft has an option of three different colours. There are four designo paint finishes including a matt finish. There is exclusive “LANDAULET” lettering in the rim flanges of the ceramically polished, 22 inch 5‑twin-spoke light-alloy wheels.
The Mercedes-Maybach G 650 Landaulet is powered by a 6.0 litre bi-turbo V12 engine that develops 630 horsepower and 1000 Nm of torque. It comes with 100‑percent differential locks, which can be engaged while on the move, as well as the low off-road ratio of the transfer case. It also comes with portal axles. The 22 inch alloy wheels are mated to massive 325/55 R 22 tyres.
The Mercedes-Maybach G 650 Landaulet, too, will be made by Magna Steyr in Graz, Austria and will have a limited production run of only 99 units.
