Mercedes GLE Coupe production begins
Mercedes has begun production of the new GLE Coupe at the company’s plant in Tuscaloosa, Alabama in the United States.
The GLE Coupe has crossover styling and is a direct competitor to the BMW X6. The front end looks similar to the standard GLE SUV (formerly the ML Class) and the rear end gets its own distinctive styling. It gets LED headlights, plastic body cladding, dual exhaust system and 20 inch alloys as standard with an option for 21 or 22 inch wheels.
On the interior the GLE Coupe gets sports seats, sports steering wheel and a new infotainment display.
The GLE Coupe will come with choice of multiply engines which includes a 3.0 litre V6 diesel, a 3.0 V6 petrol and a twin turbo 5.5 litre V8 motor. A GLE 450 AMG will also be sold alongside the standard model.
The GLE Coupe will go on sale later this year. There is no news on when or if it will come to India.
