Mercedes-Benz launched the V220d Elite, their luxury MPV, in India at a price of Rs. 1.10 crore ex showroom. The V-Class was launched earlier in January 2019, which received a warm reception in the Indian market.
The Elite is an iteration to the previous generation and continues Mercedes’ transition to BS VI emission standards. It is available in the 6-seater long wheelbase version.
The V220d Elite is powered by a 2.0L diesel motor that makes 163hp and 380 Nm torque that propel this mammoth from naught to a hundred in 11s. This is coupled to a 9G-tronic gearbox, its first deployment on a V badged Mercedes. The Agility control suspension also gets selective damping.
Like any other Mercedes-Benz, the V is also loaded with many features. The Elite sits above the Expression and Exclusive variants and gets a lot of exciting options as standard. These include Nappa leather upholstery (silk beige or black), dual-zone automatic climate control, mood lighting, refrigerated compartment in the centre console, climate controlled cup holders, luxury seating with massage and climate control and a 15 speaker 640W Burmester sound system to name a few. The car runs on 17-inch alloy wheels but 18 inchers are available as an optional extra, as is a full panoramic sunroof. The rear windshield gets its own operation to allow for easy packing through the tailgate.
The V Elite comes with many safety features and options for ease of maintenance. This includes 6 airbags, active parking assistance with 360 degree camera, and the Star maintenance package that starts at Rs. 1,09,300 and is good for 2 years/30,000 kms.
Colour options include Steel Blue, Selenite Grey, Graphite Grey Dark, Obsidian Black Metallic, Cavensite Blue Metallic, Rock Crystal White Metallic and Brilliant Silver Metallic.
