Mercedes-Benz will be launching the GLE SUV in India on October 14, 2015. The GLE is the facelift version of the ML that is currently on sale in India. It will get updated styling similar to the new S and C-Class sedans.
The SUV will come with the choice of two diesel engines; a 2.1 litre developing 203 bhp in the 250 d and a 3.0 litre V6 motor developing 255 bhp in the 350 d. A new nine speed gearbox will replace the current 7 speed transmission seen in the current ML. Interiors are also expected to be inspired from the new S-Class.
The GLE will be produced at the company’s plant in Chakan at Pune.
