Mercedes-Benz India has announced the phase II expansion of their EV footprint in India. The Mercedes EQC will now be sold in 50 cities and 94 outlets across India. The electric SUV was initially sold only in 6 metro cities when launched in 2020.

Mercedes has also opened bookings for the next batch of EQCs, which will start arriving from October 2021. From this new batch onwards, the EQC will feature an upgraded 11 kW on-board charger. The new on-board charger will charge the 80 kWh battery in 7 hours 30 minutes from 10 % to 100% state of charge, instead of the 11 hours taken earlier, a whole 3.5 hours less. The spare wheel will now come under the load floor.
