German carmaker Mercedes Benz added launched a first-ever diesel variant of its G class in the Gelandewagen format. The G350d, as it is known, is touted to be the most fuel-efficient G wagon of all time.
The G350d is powered by a 2925cc 6-cylinder engine that mobilises 286 hp and 600 torques. Transmission duties are handled by a 9G-Tronic automatic transmission that has been programmed to deliver extremely short shift times.
The 4MATIC all-wheel-drive system comes with a rear bias 40:60 torque distribution system.
Mercedes proposes virtually unlimited customisation options under the G-manufaktur program and equips the car with special Nappa leather seats, handcrafted details on the interior and exterior and at least 100 hours of workmanship.
The new G class retails at an ex-showroom price of Rs. 1.5 crores, pan India.
