Mercedes-Benz C-Class Cabriolet unveiled at Geneva
Mercedes-Benz has taken the wraps off the new C-Class Cabriolet the Geneva Motor Show 2016.
The Cabriolet is based on the C-Class sedan and comes with a two door layout. It features a diamond radiator grille, LED headlamps, long bonnet, 17 inch alloy wheels standard and LED tail lamps. It has a boot capacity of 360 litres (285 litres with the boot open.). The car features a soft top based on the S-Class Cabriolet and can be opened and closed in less than 20 seconds and up to a speed of 50 kph. The soft top is available in black as standard and optionally available in with a multi-layer acoustic soft top in dark brown, dark blue, dark red or black. The AMG C 43 features AMG bodystyling, a diamond radiator grille with pins in chrome and 18-inch AMG light-alloy wheels.
The interior is based on the C-Class sedan and comes heat-reflecting leather in a total of five colour shades (optional) as well as a curved switch in matt silver chrome in the centre console for opening and closing the soft top.It gets sports seats with bolstering at the front that are based on the Coupe and individual rear seats that can be folded down in a 50:50 split. The AMG C43 version gets a flat bottom multi function steering wheel in black leather and contrast red and AMG sporty pedals.A range of four and six cylinder petrol and diesel engines power the C-Class Cabriolet. The petrol models feature a 1.6-litre four-cylinder unit in the C180 putting out 156 horsepower to the 3.0-litre six-cylinder engine in the Mercedes-AMG C 43 4MATIC Cabriolet developing 367 horsepower. The C 200 gets optional 4MATIC all-wheel drive.
The diesel models are powered by a four-cylinder engine delivering 170 horsepower in the C220 d or 204 horses in the C250 d and are equipped with eco-friendly SCR technology (Selective Catalytic Reduction) for exhaust aftertreatment. 4MATIC is available for the C220 d.
The engines are mated to a 9G-TRONIC automatic gearbox. It comes with DYNAMIC SELECT that offers five driving modes: “ECO”, “Comfort”, “Sport”, “Sport Plus” and “Individual”. The C-Class Cabriolet is also available with AIRMATIC air suspension as an option.
