Merecedes Benz has launched the AMG S 63 sedan in India at a price of Rs. 2.53 crore ex showroom Bengaluru. It will be brought in and sold via the CBU route. The company had launched its coupe sibling two weeks ago.
The AMG S 63 gets aggressive styling over its standard counterpart. There is a body kit that comprises of new front and rear bumpers, a large central air dam and side skirts with chrome inserts. It gets large AMG alloy wheels and chrome tipped quad exhausts.
On the interior it gets electrically adjustable front seats with memory function, panoramic sunroof, 7 colours ambient lights, reclining rear seats, individual rear screens and Mercedes COMAND infotainment system. The AMG sports steering wheel comes wrapped in Nappa leather and gets paddle shifters. A 13 speaker Burmester sound system is standard while you can order a 24 speaker 3D surround system as an option. The S63 can be customized using the Mercedes ‘designo’ platform that was recently introduced.
The S63 sedan is powered by a 5.5 litre biturbo V8 engine that develops 585 horsepower and 900 Nm of maximum torque. This takes the behemoth from 0 to 100 kph in just 4.4 seconds. The engine is mated to a AMG SPEEDSHIFT MCT 7-speed sports transmission that weighs just 80 kg. It comes with the AMG sport suspension with MAGIC BODY CONTROL. The system uses a front camera to check the road ahead for undulations and then adjusts the car’s suspension accordingly to give the occupants the most comfortable ride possible.
The S63 sedan is Mercedes’ ninth AMG offering in India. The company has now launched 10 models in 2015 that includes the S63 sedan and 5 more models are expected to launch before the end of the year.
