Mahindra XUV700 Verdict
Mahindra revolutionised this product so well that were forced to change the numerical hierarchy to place it above XUV5OO and give a premium position. What was a shocker was the pricing that Mahindra announced for some of the variants. The MX Petrol Manual announced at Rs 11.99L, MX Diesel Rs 12.49L, AX3 Petrol Manual 13.99L and AX5 Petrol at Rs 14.99L. Armed with such prices Mahindra has been able to unsettle not only the competition but also across other segments. The Mahindra XUV7OO is a direct rival to the Tata Safari, MG Hector and Hyundai Alcazar, but with these prices it could hit rivals in the lower C-SUV space too.
So, the Mahindra XUV7OO looks good, has strong mechanicals in place, but electronics need some fine-tuning. It drives and handles very well. The engine options are segment best But the XUV7OO does miss out on certain segment features like HUD, Auto Dimming IVRM, Ventilated Seats, and Paddle Shifters. We are not complaining about the current list of offerings at all especially in Safety Department, but these are important features to have as part of the equipment list.
The Mahindra XUV7OO means business. They have just one aim to reclaim what they have lost in the SUV territory over the years. Well, the XUV7OO can do just that. It’s loaded with the right ammo to go to war. The Thar was a run away hit the moment it was launched, and looks like history will repeat itself for Mahindra with the XUV700.
