Honda recently announced a special edition of its Amaze compact sedan that bears the appendage Ace to mark the crossing of the 1 lakh unit sales.
The Amaze Ace is based on the top VX trim and is available in both petrol and diesel powertrains with manual and CVT automatic combinations. The Amaze, which is currently in its second-generation avatar, gets a host of styling updates such as blacked out alloy wheels, rain guards and collision guards on the door edges, a boot-lid lip spoiler and the Ace edition badging with the name.
The interior also gets mildly refreshed with new leatherette and fabric upholstery for the seats, illuminated footwells and the Ace edition badging embellished at key highlight areas.
Under the hood are the 1.2L petrol i-VTEC and the 1.5L diesel i-DTEC engine, both of which, as stated earlier, are available in the manual and CVT automatic format. The car is scheduled to run a production of 840 units only and shall be available in red, silver and white colours. It goes up against the likes of the Volkswagen Ameo, Hyundai Xcent and Maruti Suzuki Dzire in the Indian market.
