Land Rover Discovery Sport spied testing in India
The new Land Rover Discovery Sport has been spied testing in India for the first time. It replaces the Freelander 2 in the Land Rover model line up. The Discovery Sport will come to India via the CKD route and will be assembled at the Pune facility in Maharashtra. It will initially be launched only in the HSE trim and will come with a 5+2 seating configuration.
Powering the Discovery Sport will be a 2.2 litre 4 cylinder diesel engine that will be available in two states of tune: 150 and 180 horsepower. The motor will be mated to a nine speed automatic gearbox. The new 2.0 litre Ingenium diesel is expected later.
The Land Rover Discovery Sport is expected to launch India in August or September later this year.
