Italian supercar maker Lamborghini has announced that it will launched the Huracan Spyder in India on May 5, 2016. The Huracan LP610-4 Spyder was unveiled at the Frankfurt Motor Show 2015.
The Huracan Spyder features a lightweight electro hydraulic soft top. It comes in 3 three different colours; black, brown and red. It comes equipped with hidden automatic pop up safety bars. The soft top can be opened or closed via a button on the centre console in just 17 seconds and up to a driving speed of 50 kph. The driver can also electronically open the rear window, which functions as a windshield when closed. With the roof down, a distinctive design solution with two movable fins has been developed. The fins become visible during the opening process, rising out of the folding roof casing and perfectly defining the design of the open car. These rear fins start at the seatbacks and continue the roof line to the rear. An integrated duct reduces turbulence in the headroom during open top driving. There are two removable lateral wind guards damping the lateral aerodynamic pulsations, thus ensuring perfect acoustic comfort that allows a conversation even at high speeds. The Huracan Spyder’s lightweight chassis combines aluminium front and rear components along with extensive carbon fibre bits. The chassis is 40% stiffer than that of its predecessor, the Gallardo Spyder. In terms of downforce, the Huracán Spyder exceeds its Gallardo predecessor by 50%, and with roof closed benefits from a very low drag coefficient with wind noise virtually eliminated.
Mechanically, the Huracan Spyder is powered by a 5.2 litre naturally aspirated V10 engine putting out 610 horsepower and 560 Nm torque. The motor is mated to 7 speed dual clutch gearbox and comes with all wheel drive. It goes from 0 to 100 kph in 3.4 seconds and has a top speed of 324 kph. The car also features ‘cylinder on demand’ function along with Auto engine start stop.
The Huracan lineup in India includes the LP610-4 and LP580-2 coupes.
Lamborghini will also inaugurate its new showroom in Mumbai alongside the Huracan Spyder launch.
