Kia Motors India has just concluded its Design Tour which travelled across multiple cities in India to increase awareness of the brand across the country. The tour reached 26 cities and covered a total distance of 15,000 kms starting from Jamshedpur on 16th January 2019 and ending in Bhopal on 15th March. Kia Motors displayed the Niro, Carnival and Sportage models from their portfolio during this tour.
The first model by Kia Motors in India will be a mid size SUV based on the SP concept that was first revealed at the Auto Expo 2018. Trial production of the SPi has already begun at the car maker’s Anantapur plant in Andhra Pradesh. Kia plans to launch a new product every six months after its first model launch and aims to have a 5 model portfolio in India by 2021.
Mr. Manohar Bhat, Head of Marketing and Sales, Kia Motors India said, “The Design Tour is a great platform where multiple stakeholders – Dealers, Customers and Opinion Leaders – get to be a part of, and experience the distinctive and stunning design of Kia cars. Through this activity we were able to gauge the excitement and anticipation around Kia amongst the masses across the country. We have received a phenomenal response from every city, and we are happy that we were able to showcase the glimpse of great design and technology of Kia in the respective cities, a taste of what Kia is about, before the launch of our mid-SUV in India.”
Kia Motors aims to become one of the top 5 auto makers in India in the next three years.
