Jeep Compass Black Shark Edition Interior:
Not much has changed in the interior. It still feels built to last. A 10.1-inch Uconnect 5 high-definition touchscreen head-unit is standard, and the front seats feature Jeep embossing on them. The Black Shark Edition gets a black and red interior theme. There are red inserts and stitching across the cabin including the steering wheel. There is a gloss black surround for the engine start/stop button as well. The seats are finished in black leather and get contrast stitching. They don’t get the ventilation function since this Edition is based on the Limited trim.
Jeep Compass Black Shark Edition Engine & Performance:
The Compass 4×2 AT uses the same 2.0 litre Multijet diesel engine putting out 170 horsepower and 350 Nm of torque. The gearbox is a 9 speed torque converter AT unit. Push the start button and the engine comes to life. It is pretty smooth at idling and vibrations are not felt much. There is a minor lag felt when you start off. The gearbox isn’t the most quick shifting around but shifts are smooth once you pick up momentum. Engine noise is heard in the cabin when you execute a downshift. However cruising in the mid-range is stress free and the Compass chugs along well. The gearbox has a manual mode as well but paddle shifters are a big miss. That’s because the Compass is a fun car to drive. Paddle shifters would have added to the pleasure.
