Korean car manufacturer, Hyundai, has now launched the brand new Verna sedan in the Indian market. A very popular choice in the segment, known for its feature-packed interior, the new Verna comes with a choice of three BS-VI compliant engines, four transmission options and a number of various features. In its new avatar, the Verna would compete against the likes of the Honda City, Maruti Suzuki Ciaz, Volkswagen Vento and Skoda Rapid in the Indian market.
One of the best looking cars in the segment, the new model carries forward the trend. The curvy body of the car is complemented by the newly designed LED headlamps and a dark chrome grille. Aptly sized 16-inch alloy wheels with a diamond-cut design further enhance the sporty look of the car. Talking about sporty looks, the Verna, in the Turbo trim offers a twin tip muffler, Glossy black grille along with all-black interiors lending much more sportiness to the design.
Supporting the sporty design, the new Verna comes with 3 power packed engines to choose from. Customers looking for a petrol-powered sedan can choose between a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated and a 1-litre, direct-injection turbocharged motor. While the naturally aspirated unit is good for 115 PS of peak power, the turbocharged motor delivers 120 PS. For the customers who prefer an oil burner, Hyundai will offer their 1.5-litre oil burner which is good for 115 PS of power. Talking about transmission options, the 1.5-litre petrol motor can be paired with a 6-speed manual or a CVT type auto gearbox. The 1.5-litre diesel engine too gets an option of a 6-speed manual or a torque converter type automatic to choose from. The 1-litre turbo petrol, however, will come paired exclusively with the 7-speed DCT.
Features on offer with the higher end trim levels of the car include Blue Link connectivity with 20.32 cm touchscreen, front ventilated seats, digital cluster with 10.67cm colour TFT MID, wireless phone charger, smart trunk, Arkamys sound system, driver rearview monitor (DRVM), emergency stop signal, twin-tip muffler, design, ECO coating, rear USB charger with conventional power outlet, luggage net & hooks.
