The very popular Hyundai Grand i10 is now being offered with company fitted CNG kit in its Magna variant. This option, which was earlier available only to cab fleets has now been extended to private buyers as well.
The CNG variant is more expensive than the petrol variant by Rs. 67,000. The car retails for Rs. 6.39 lakh ex showroom Delhi and Rs. 6.41 lakh ex-showroom Mumbai. Specification wise, the car comes with a 1.2-litre four pot motor that makes 82 BHP and 110 Nm of torque on petrol and 66 BHP and 98 Nm of torque on CNG.
However, the Sportz and Asta variants don’t get company fitted CNG, which deprives the buyers of convenience combined with savings. But in itself, even the Magna comes loaded with both cosmetic and safety features. Roof rails, electronically adjustable ORVMs, steering controlled Bluetooth audio, rear air conditioning and all electric power windows keep you comfortable, while dual front airbags, ABS and EBD take care of your safety.
The company fitted CNG gives the Grand i10 an edge over rivals such as the Ford Figo and the Maruti Suzuki Swift that come with petrol and diesel motors only. Also, the Grand i10 is Hyundai’s second car in the CNG for private owners line up, the first being the new Santro.
The next-gen Grand i10 is expected to launch later this year.
