Ford will be showcasing the legendary Mustang at the Auto Expo 2016 in February. The car is slated for an India launch later this year.
Lovingly called the pony car originally, this is the sixth generation of the Mustang that was launched globally in 2014. That year also marked the 50th Anniversary of the iconic car. The current gen car is the first Mustang to be made in right hand drive.
The current Mustang is lighter and stiffer than the previous gen cars. Features include HID headlamps, puddle lamps with Mustang logo projection, independent front and rear suspension, 19 inch alloy wheels, touch screen infotainment system, ambient lighting for the interior and four driving modes.
While the Mustang is offered with three engine options internationally, India will get the 5.0 litre V8 engine developing 437 bhp of power. The engine will likely be mated to a six speed automatic gearbox with paddle shifters.
The Ford Mustang will be sold in India as a fully imported CBU. Price for the GT V8 is expected be in the region of Rs. 80 lakh.
