With the Cricket world cup around the corner, Ford has released a special edition of its compact sedan, the Aspire, to show support to our boys in blue. The very aptly names Aspire ‘Blu’ is based on the top of the line Aspire Titanium but features a host of updated visual cues.
Apart from blue accents at several places on the body, the car gets an entirely black grille along with contrast coloured roof and black stripe decals with blue accents along the lower portion of the doors. The cabin also gets blue themed interiors with a leather-wrapped steering wheel and charcoal black upholstery with contrasting blue stitching. The car is available in three colours, namely White, Moondust Silver and Smoke. The 15-inch black alloys look rather nice and go on to complete the look of the car.
The car is powered by Ford’s trusty 3-pot 1.2-litre TiVCT petrol motor that makes all of 95 hp and 120 Nm of torque while delivering a fuel economy of 20.4 km/l. However, customers may also choose a 1.5-litre TDCi diesel motor that makes 98 hp and 210 Nm of torque while making 25.5 kilometres to the litre. Both engines are mated to a manual gearbox.
Convenience is had by embedded satellite navigation; a 7 inch Bluetooth enabled touchscreen infotainment system, rear view parking camera and automatic air conditioning to name a few. Safety is taken care of by front and passenger airbags and ABS with EBD being offered as standard.
The Aspire Blu comes with 2+3 years or 1,00,000kms warranty scheme, which is a segment first. The Aspire Blu retails for an ex-showroom price of Rs.7,40,900 (1.2L petrol) and Rs. 8,20,900 (1.5L diesel).
