First Tata Harrier rolls off assembly line. Production spec model revealed
The First Tata Harrier has officially rolled off the assembly line at the Tata Plant in Pune. Bookings for the Harrier are officially open for an amount of Rs. 30,000 at Tata dealers.
The Harrier is being produced on a brand new assembly line that has been in just 6 months with the best manufacturing inputs and practices from Jaguar Land Rover. It features 90% automation levels with over 100+ KUKA and ABB robots.
The Harrier is the first Tata vehicle to feature the Impact 2.0 design philosophy. The SUV is built on the new generation ‘Optimal Modular Efficient Global Advanced’ Architecture which is derived from the Land Rover D8 architecture.
The Harrier will be powered by a 2.0 litre four cylinder Kryotec engine that is expected to develop 140 horsepower and 300 Nm of torque. Transmission options will include a 6 speed manual and a 6 speed automatic gearbox.
The Harrier is expected to come loaded with features like a touch screen infotainment system, keyless go, plush interiors, steering mounted controls, driving modes, sunroof etc.
The Tata Harrier is expected to launch in January 2019 with deliveries beginning soon after.
