Ferrari to re launch the Dino
Ferrari will relaunch the legendary Dino in the form of a mid engined sportscar that will come with a twin turbo V6 engine. Chairman of Ferrari, Sergio Marchionne has confirmed.
Speaking to Autocar UK magazine, Marchionne said it was “not a question of if but when” the Dino would be revived. That does not mean that Ferrari will sell the car at a lower priceor increase volumes once the Dino is reborn. “We may produce a 500 horsepower Ferrari, but it will not be a cheap Ferrari,” he said. “The brand is unique and needs to be protected. I would rather build 500 fewer cars than the market demanded instead of 500 more. We must not mess with customer expectations of Ferrari as an exclusive brand.” said Marchionne.
The new Dino is likely to sit along side the California T in the Ferrari lineup and will rival cars like the Mclaren 570s, Porsche 911 and the Mercedes AMG GT.
The Dino is named after Enzo Ferrari’s son Alfredo ‘Dino’ Ferrari who designed the V6 engine used in the cars.
