Driving a Ferrari is an emotional experience, and more so for a Ferrari lover like me. I have driven quite a few of them over the years, but every time I get behind the wheel of a Ferrari, it feels like the first time. Staring at and touching the Prancing Horse logo on the steering for a few minutes before driving is sort of a ritual for me. And it was time for that yet again. This here is the Ferrari Roma, the newest in the line of GT Ferraris and your entry ticket to the legendary marque. The Roma is said to be a very practical and useable Ferrari that you can drive everyday, so how good is in on our roads and traffic conditions. And if its practical, is it a thorough bred too? I got the chance to spend a few hours with it on my birthday this year thanks to the team at Ferrari Mumbai who went of the way to make things special. Unlike a usual Ferrari review, this time the focus will be on how the Roma feels like as a daily driver in urban Indian city conditions. Read on.
Ferrari Roma Exterior
To say that the Roma looks stunning would be an understatement. I personally feels it’s the most beautiful Ferrari from the stables of Maranello after the 458 Italia. Just look at the those lines that mix modern styling with classic Ferrari. Right from the retro design front grille to the sharp nose and the buldging bonnet. The cut design slim headlamps with the single stroke DRL are a standout. And haven’t I said Ferraris look gorgeous in colours other than Rosso? If you don’t agree, the Verde British Green shade on this example will make you nod in agreement. And if that isn’t enough, the rear is simply gorgeous. I love the new tail light design and how they integrate with the lip spoiler and the boot. There is a diffuser in the centre flanked by quad exhaust pipes to blow the musical symphonies. The Roma features an all aluminum chassis and does share quite a bit with the Portofino. Both cars share the same wheelbase at 2670 mm. That said, the Roma is 100 kg lighter.
