Ferrari GTC4Lusso makes debut at Geneva
The Ferrari GTC4Lusso has made its debut at the Geneva Motor Show 2016. The GTC4Lusso is the facelift version of the FF four seater.
The Ferrari GTC4Lusso gets some new styling updates. It comes with a new front grille with intergrated air intakes, large air vents on the front fenders, Ferrari signature twin tail lamps, roof mounted rear spoiler and a new triple fence diffuser. The curve of the roof has also been lowered but still retains space for all four occupants as well as ample boot space.
On the interior, the GTC4Lusso gets a Dual Cockpit layout. This is the first Ferrari to debut the new infotainment system that features a 10.25 inch HD screen. The steering wheel is also smaller than before due to a smaller airbag. Ferrari says the steering controls are more ergonomic than before. The GTC4Lusso is powered by the same 6.2 litre V12 engine that did duty in th FF but now develops 680 bhp at 8000 rpm. Maximum torque stands at 697 Nm with 80% of that coming from 1750 rpm. The car goes from 0 to 100 kph in 3.4 seconds and has a top speed of 335 kph. The engine is mated to a seven speed dual clutch gearbox. Ferrari says “The soundtrack brilliantly reflects the car’s multifaceted personality: it is rich and powerful in performance driving and discreet yet harmonious in the city.”
Like the FF, the GTC4Lusso is also equipped with four wheel drive but comes with rear wheel steering for the very first time. Ferrari calls this new patented system, 4RM-S (four-wheel drive and steering) and is based on the latest evolution of the Slip Side Control (4.0). The system also features the electronic differential (E-Diff) and the SCM-E dampers. Ferrari says that the car can handle the extraordinary torque even on snow-covered, wet or low grip roads thanks to these systems.
