F12 Berlinetta

Ferrari is working on a ‘Speciale’ version of the F12 Berlinetta. It will be a full scale production model and not a limited edition. The standard F12 Berlinetta will continue to be made alongside its light weight and more powerful sibling.

The F12 Speciale will weigh 200 kg less than the stock car and power from the 6.2 litre V12 engine will be bumped up to 760 bhp from 730 bhp. Power-to-weight ratio is set to go up from 447bhp per tonne to 531bhp per tonne.

The interior is expected to be stripped of features like carpets, sat nav and sound deadening. The suspension and the steering will be tuned differently. It will also get optimized safety and stability systems to help the car adapt to both the circuit and the street.

The F12 Speciale will be a very special Prancing Horse because it may be the last car to have a naturally aspirated, non hybrid engine. The California T and 488 GTB V8 engined cars have already gone the turbo way and future V12 models are like to get a supporting electric motor as seen in the LaFerrari super car.

The F12 Speciale is expected to be officially revealed at the Geneva Motor Show next March.
