Bugatti Chiron officially revealed at Geneva
The new Bugatti Chiron has finally broken cover at Geneva. It replaces the legendary Veyron hypercar.
The new car appears to be an evolution of its predecessor but is an all new car. The Chiron has a full carbon fibre construction and Bugatti boss Wolfgang Dürheimer has said that the Chiron is basically an all-new car as it uses a small amount of components sourced from the Veyron. The Bugatti Chiron is 82 mm longer, 40 mm wider and 53 mm higher than the Veyron and 155 kg heavier, now weighing 1995 kg.The Bugatti Chiron is powered by an upgraded 8.0 litre W16 engine with four turbo chargers. It pumps out 1479 horsepower at 6700 rpm and a whopping 1600 Nm torque that comes up between 2000 to 6000 rpm. It goes from 0 to 100 kph in less than 2.4 seconds and has a top speed of 420 kph (limited). The engine is mated to a seven speed dual clutch automatic gearbox and comes with an all wheel drive system. Bugatti Chiron production will be limited to only 500 units. The car will be produced at the Molsheim factory in France and deliveries are expected to commence in October. The company says that it has so far received 150 orders for the car.
