Bugatti has confirmed that the new Chiron hyper car will make its debut at the Geneva Motor Show in March 2016. The Chiron is a replacement for the iconic Veyron.
The model name Chiron has been chosen as a tribute to Louis Chiron, a racing driver for the company during the 1920s and 1930s. Bugatti has described the Chiron as the “world’s most powerful, fastest, most luxurious and most exclusive production super sports car” ever. Prototypes of the car have been testing around the world in various climatic conditions for quite a while now.
Power will come from a 8.0 litre W16 quad turbo engine developing 1500 horsepower and 1500 Nm of torque. The engine will be mated to a special 7 speed DSG gearbox and the car will be equipped with all wheel drive. The Chiron will go from 0 to 100 kph in a mind boggling 2.3 seconds and will have a top speed of around 470 to 480 kph. The car will apparently come with a speedometer marked upto 500 kph.
It will be shod with 20 inch wheels at the front and 21 inch wheels at the rear. It will get special Michelin Pilot Sport PAX tyres to handle all that power. 15 radiators will cool the W16 powerplant.
The Bugatti Chiron is expected to have a limited production run.
